Dubbed as “Skull From Hell”, it’s a pimped Chevrolet HHR Panel crafted cleverly by Jim McCammon, Creative Studies student from Detroit College. The reason for the gritty, nasty design? It was to take on the new HHR Panel wagon as part of the design competition. The winning vehicle’s supposed to be showcased at the upcoming 2007 New York Auto Show. The HHR panel starts production this month.

The “Skull From Hell” was spruced up by McCammon and his efforts were not in vain. It won the design contest which General Motors Vice Chairman Bob Lutz and an executive team conducted the survey of the best design entries around. And sure enough, McCammon won.

On the rolling automotive grapevine, GM will also exhibit another vehicle from the recent design contest. The second vehicle is supposedly a delivery HHR Panel that looks to be a bouquet on wheels which is named as Flower Power. The Flower Power’s exterior car parts have been revamped as a garden of flowers and swirls of colored hues.

Chevrolet General Manager Ed Peper claimed the contest is one great way to demonstrate how to make the HHR Panel a perfect balance that will satisfy the public’s viewing whether it’s a large company, small business or an individual who just wants to be expressive. "I think enthusiasts will be inspired by the student designs and we’ll see more customizing like this on the road." He added.

Of course, the HHR Panel provides LS and LT trimmings. Its engine bay guns a 149-horsepower 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine or a 175-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Both the "Skull From Hell" and "Flower Power" will be lining up at the 2007 New York Auto Show.

The design competition is meant to inspire others to personalize the new Chevrolet HHR Panel with great new designs. So scurry those ideas and customize your Chevrolet HHR panel now.
